A Thousand Doorways by Diane Edgecomb
Saturday, 13 October 2018 6:30pm
Oasis Cardiff, 69b Splott Road, Cardiff, CF24 2BW
A Thousand Doorways, written and performed by Diane Edgecomb, is an uplifting story of how the human spirit may triumph in the face of the steepest odds. Moved by the silencing of the Kurdish language by Turkish laws and military presence, Edgecomb embarked on a risk-filled journey of heart and intrigue to record the last Kurdish storytellers. The performance at Oasis will be part of her second UK tour, culminating in performances at the Edinburgh International Storytelling Festival. This event will be a benefit for the Oasis community. Kurdish food will be prepared to precede the performance, and a dialogue with the audience will follow. Food will be served at 6:30pm, and the storytelling will begin at 7:30.
Admission including dinner, storytelling, and conversation, is £10. Receipts will benefit Oasis Centre, Cardiff.
