Description: This workshop introduces the use of writing for wellbeing for those with life limiting conditions. We intend to cover the following:
  • What writing for well-being is, its benefits and uses in end of life care
  • Using it safely and constructively
  • How to approach, set up and fund writing for wellbeing courses
  • How to structure a course and sessions
  • How to manage group interaction
  • The constraints and particular challenges together with how to overcome them
  • Practical examples of exercises, such as, flow and cluster writing, using metaphor, writing from objects, poetry and other prompts plus basic journaling techniques
  • Professional evaluation and reflection

This workshop is experiential and attendees should be willing to participate in a variety of writing for wellbeing activities.
