Taking Your Writing For A Walk

Come to World Heritage Site Saltaire for a writing walk on Saturday 11th August 2018 11am to 4pm. with poet and playwright Char March. She’ll lead a day of writing exercises and ideas to help you see the world – and yourself – in different ways. We’ll be doing one or possibly two gentle walks* – one woodland, one urban – so have comfy shoes and a notebook that’s easy to hold and use. Come with us on real and imaginary journeys that will light your writing up.

Numbers for this workshop are limited to 16, so please let us know now if you’re interested in coming, by replying to this e-mail. There’ll be the usual small charge of £10 / £5 (Lapidus members/other concessions). You can either bring your own lunch, or there’ll be opportunities to take advantage of one of Saltaire’s cafes. We’ll meet at Hirst Wood Car park at 11 a.m. (see map attached).

 Char March is a highly-experienced writing tutor. She’s won many awards for poetry, short fiction, and as a playwright. Her credits include: the short story collection Something Vital Fell Through, five poetry collections including Full Stops In Winter Branches, six BBC Radio 4 plays, and eight stage plays. She’s been Writer-in-Residence for loads of places from the NHS to art galleries; landscape projects to business schools. She’s lectured in creative writing at Leeds College of Art & Design and Universities across the North.
