Introducing our Creative Bridges keynote speakers: Elizabeth Torres

Lapidus co-Chair, Mel Perry, introduces Elizabeth Torres, our second keynote speaker for the Creative Bridges 2025 conference. Creative Bridges takes place online on 13th and 14th September 2025.

About Elizabeth Torres

Elizabeth Torres, known artistically as Madam Neverstop, is a Colombian-American poet, multimedia artist, and translator born in Bogotá in 1987.

She has authored over twenty books of poetry across multiple languages, including Spanish, English, Danish, Swedish, and German. Her book Lotería: Sorteo Nocturno / Nocturnal Sweepstakes, earned her the 2022 Ambroggio Prize from the Academy of American Poets and was published by the University of Arizona Press in 2023. Most recently, she released Expediciones a la región furtiva –Valparaíso Ediciones, Spain, in 2023, and MISERABILIA –Ellerströms Tekst och Musik Sweden, in 2024.

Elizabeth’s creative endeavors blend multimedia poetry, visual arts, film and soundscapes, exploring themes of identity, migration, and resilience. She has a background in Media & Film and Fine Arts from Kean University, NJ, and holds an MFA in Writing for Performing Arts from the National School of Performing Arts of Denmark.

As the founder and director of Red Door Magazine and Gallery, Torres provides platforms for international artists. Elizabeth works between the US and the Nordic region, with a focus on diversifying the cultural landscape and establishing creative networks. She also hosts the Red Transmissions Podcast and initiated the Poetic Phonotheque, an international multimedia poetry archive. Her work has been featured in numerous anthologies and literary journals worldwide, with translations into multiple languages.

Her artwork has been exhibited in Colombia, Mexico, Costa Rica, Spain, Portugal, France, Copenhagen and the United States. Her work focuses on social justice, creative expression, artistic exchanges, and world-threading.
