An Introduction To LIRIC

LIRIC Journal: A Guide for Contributors

The Why
LIRIC is rooted in writing, learning, and inquiry, publishing research that addresses real-world challenges and supports well-being. We embrace curiosity, respect diversity, and foster connections—much like an aspen tree, with its strong, interwoven roots. Our mission is to highlight the diverse approaches to writing for well-being, offering fresh perspectives beyond single-discipline methodologies.

The Who
We support new voices by providing structured feedback and guidance, ensuring contributors feel confident in their submissions. We welcome:

  • Practitioners & researchers exploring the impact of their work
  • MSc & PhD graduates looking to publish findings from their dissertations
  • Writers tackling underexplored topics or methodological challenges

The What
We seek fresh approaches—whether applying existing techniques in new ways, introducing untold perspectives, or pushing creative boundaries. LIRIC embraces mixed-media submissions, such as audio-text hybrids, photopoetry, and experimental formats.

A standout example is Mark Smalley’s paper, which combined photography, poetry, and deep ecological reflection to explore writing for well-being in the context of climate change. Looking ahead, we’d love to see more fiction, video work, and innovative storytelling formats.

The How
To submit:

  1. Review our aims & scope on the LIRIC website.
  2. Check the author guidelines for formatting and submission details.
  3. Register as an author via the LIRIC homepage. Click on the ‘for authors’ button for the registration page.
  4. Reach out at liriceditor@lapidus.org.uk if unsure.

LIRIC is free to publish in and access, fostering a nurturing, inclusive academic space. We look forward to seeing your work!
