This year, we’re shining a spotlight on the creative side of writing for wellbeing, with a special focus on poetry and expressive writing. Whether you’re a poet, storyteller, or simply someone who finds healing through creative expression, this festival is for you.

Expect a vibrant afternoon full of inspiring workshops, thought-provoking talks, and plenty of creative connection; all celebrating the power of words to support wellbeing.

Whether you’re just beginning your journey or are already deeply immersed in the practice, there’s something here to spark your imagination.

Meet Your Session Leads

We are thrilled to have a range of seasoned practitioners with us for the Summer Festival, read more about them below.

Host – Peter Emelone

Peter has over 20 years of experience in education and is passionate about creating inclusive, empowering learning environments. A Consultant Lecturer at Global Banking School and former Director of Studies, he also serves as an ambassador for the Chartered Management Institute. His work focuses on leadership, positivity, and transformative teaching practices.

Session 1 – Christine Hollywood

Christine Hollywood is a freelance writer, poet, and expressive writing facilitator with a background in teaching and an MA in Creative Writing and Personal Development from Sussex. She joined the Lapidus board in 2013 and later became Chair, playing a key role in strengthening the organisation and supporting its growth in membership and reach.

Session 1 – Leah Larwood

Leah Larwood is a poet, certified poetry therapist, and writer with an MA in Creative Writing from Birkbeck, University of London. Her work has been widely published and recognised in major competitions. A lucid dreamer since adolescence, her dreams often inspire her poetry. She is currently training as a gestalt psychotherapist

Session 3 – Foteini Dimitrou

Foteini Dimitriou, founder of Yoga Family Violet Alignment, is a yoga teacher and author with over 15 years of global experience. Blending yoga, poetry, and emotional wellbeing, she creates healing programs, particularly for refugee communities, and is the author of Yoga Tales and Wandering in Paris.

Additional Information

You will be sent a Zoom link approximately one week before the event itself. You can attend one, or all of the sessions, the festival will be run as a drop-in event.
