Guest Judge: Julie Primon
Julie Primon is an author currently undertaking her PhD at Cardiff University. Her thesis, Like a River Towards the Sea: Writing the Unfamiliar, includes a historical novel set in 1940's Italy, loosely based on her grandmother's own story. Julie enjoys exploring the dynamics of human relationships in her writing; she believes it is connections and exchanges between people that give life its richness and colour. She is a French native who teaches creative writing and French, and writes both prose and poetry –her poem Erasure was recently published in the Bangor Literary Journal and her flash fiction was shortlisted in the University of Winchester Writer’s Festival.
Submissions should be flash fiction on the theme of "A Moment of Kindness" - how you interpret that is up to you!
Submissions should be no longer than 500 words (not including the title) and the submitted document should have no identifying features of the author.
Submission deadline for the competition is midnight on October 31st 2018.
The cost of this competition is £3 per submission. You may submit up to three separate entries.
Please also include in your submission email your name, a short bio (no longer than 50 words) and your Paypal receipt number. Don't forget to attach your submission as well!
Please only submit unpublished work.

Winners of the competition will be announced at the Lapidus International AGM on December 15th 2018 in London.
The winner of this competition will receive a £50 prize from Lapidus International and their work will be published in an ebook along with shortlisted entries, should we receive enough submissions. Otherwise, the winner will be published in the next issue of the Lapidus Journal.
