Experience

As an accredited Journal Therapist / Practitioner, my work is influenced by mindfulness and Zen principles, alongside structured, evidence-based frameworks which I use to help people find a sense of quiet in a busy world.

As a SEND parent, I understand the relentless mental load that comes with constant advocacy and navigating complex systems. It is a role that often requires you to be “on” at all times, making it easy for your own identity to disappear under the weight of everyone else’s needs. I provide a practical way to manage that overwhelm and reclaim some quiet for yourself.

In 2017 I set up Thirsk Coworking, a local free and flexible coworking opportunity aimed at helping business owners, students, freelancers and others to escape the isolation of solo-work; offering community, support and accountability.

Skills & Interests

I help people who are exhausted by the daily performance of doing fine. If you find yourself white-knuckling your way through a high-pressure career or the complexities of life as a SEND parent, I provide a space where you can finally drop the mask.

With twenty years of experience in professional communications, I have a deep understanding of how we use language to hide how we really feel. In my therapeutic work, I help you use that same language to find clarity. I show you how to move the noise from your head onto the page so that you can lower the volume of your stress and start to feel like yourself again.

My approach is not about writing perfectly or keeping a neat diary. It is about using structured, evidence-led tools to separate who you are from the roles you play: the professional, the carer, or the advocate. I help you find a way out of the mental fog and toward a more grounded, sustainable version of your life.
