Jacky Power
Experience
Jacky is a therapeutic poet, transformational speaker and trauma therapist. She has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and runs the monthly Permission to Feel workshops, which combine therapeutic poetry with reflective writing and emotional processing in group settings. She has worked extensively with people she describes as “cycle breakers” — individuals interrupting intergenerational patterns — helping them find language for experiences that have long been silenced. Her forthcoming book, From Hulp to Hope, to be published in May 2026, brings together the frameworks and philosophy at the heart of her practice.
Qualifications
Jacky holds an MSc in Addiction Psychology & Counselling and a BA in English, and is a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). She is a Master Practitioner in Eating Disorders, an Advanced Practitioner in EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and a Practitioner in Matrix Reimprinting. In 2020 she completed a professional writing academy course in creating writing workshops, formalising her facilitation practice alongside her therapeutic and creative background.
