Wellbeing and Writing

Wellbeing and Writing will be an event comprising of two days: a writing day and a research day.

Saturday 23rd March will be the Writing day

Join us for a day of celebrating and encouraging new writing and promoting wellbeing!

The day will begin with speaker Debbie Taylor, Managing Editor of Mslexia magazine, followed by a discussion/activity around Creative Writing Safely, and a workshop provided by the fantastic organisation New Writing North.

Sunday 24th March will be the Research day

Join us for a day of exploration and discovery around the field of words for wellbeing!

This day will begin with speaker Carolyn Jess-Cooke from Glasgow University. You will then have the opportunity to take part in a research consultation by Lapidus International, and will conclude with a presentation by Sophie Nichols of Teeside University.

9:30-10:00: Registration

10:00 - 10:30: Keynote Speaker - Debbie Taylor, Editorial Director of Mslexia Magazine

10:30 - 12:30: Creative Writing Safely with Claire Williamson, Clare Scott and Barbara Bloomfield

12:30 - 1:30: Lunch Break (Note: Lunch not provided)

1:30 - 3:30: Workshop in partnership with New Writing North, Poet Anna Woodford.

3:30 - 4:00: Open Mic. Bring a piece of writing to share!

 

Sunday 24th March 2019 "Research, Wellbeing and Writing"

1:30 - 3:30: Workshop: Dr Sophie Nicholls - Teesside University

3:30 - 4:00: Plenary:  Simon Poole, Director of Research for Lapidus International: 'Story: Personal Experience, Narratives and Social Questions.’
