Seasons of Life - Writing for Self Discovery

Writing for Self Discovery workshops Autumn 2017

Small group workshops facilitated by Alison Clayburn (M.A. Creative Writing for Personal Development) at Canada Water Library (next to Canada Water bus/train/tube station) Rotherhithe London SE16.

Saturdays 1.30pm - 4.30pm

These workshops use creative writing to explore both personal and collective responses to a common theme, and then produce creative nonfiction, poetry or story.

Seasons are a good metaphor for life stages. We can learn much about ourselves by examining our personal experience and the views of the society around us, and by comparing this with seasonal images. We will use the different seasons and stages as prompts, sharing both oral responses and the results of reflective writing, then go on to produce draft pieces in our chosen genres.

Ideas will be shared in confidence and draft pieces feedbacked.

The group will be small, confidential and supportive.

Sat Sept 16 2017: spring/childhood

Sat Oct 14 2017: summer/adulthood

Sat Nov 18 2017: autumn/later life

Cost: £75 for three, £60 for two, if booked together. £35 for one.

The booking deadline is three days ahead of each workshop.
