Safety in a time of Covid - an introduction to safe group work

Saturday 27 February - 10:00am to 11:30am

How would you handle a workshop participant who is feeling suicidal? Do you know the law concerning safeguarding? How do you get support for your workshops and your own wellbeing?

Dr. Jeannie Wright and Barbara Bloomfield, both experienced counsellors, supervisors and writers for wellbeing, will take you through what you need to know to create inspiring and above all safe events.

This short, taster session on the three S’s - Safety, Supervision and Safeguarding - will introduce:

  • -  how to make your online workshops into a safe space
  • -  how to handle participants who are distressed, angry or likely to disrupt the group
  • -  legal and ethical info and thinking about safeguarding. handouts provided
  • -  how to get support for yourself and strengthen your boundaries

This short session will lead onto a longer workshop, if participants are interested, where we can look more deeply into these issues in an interesting and experiential way.
