Winter, the spring of genius

“And don't think the garden loses its ecstasy in winter. It's quiet, but the roots are down there riotous.” -Rumi

This 5-week writing for wellbeing series, offers a safe and creative space to harness the season's wild and still nature, in all its magnificent messiness and seeming harshness.

Discovering what you can learn about yourself in winter, through poetry and other writing exercises, this course is about finding the twinkles in the coal pile: Understanding how you feel about winter, what you’re grateful for, how you can embrace it, and, survive and thrive the rest of the winter.

Understand where you are in winter, what you are grateful for, leaning into the dark to find the light, embracing darkness and stillness and the alchemy of winter.

Read Write Express Writing for Wellbeing and Self Awareness

Date: 23rd January (Balance), 20th February (Potentialities), 20th March (Growing)

Time: 10.00am to 12.30pm

Where: Online

Cost: £23.50

Read Write Express offer workshops for adults who wish to explore writing as a means of improving wellbeing, gaining confidence and moving forward with life.

The workshops provide a nurturing and supportive space to experience different writing and other fun, releasing and relaxing exercises to help participants stimulate their creativity and encourage self-awareness. Writing experience not essential, just a willingness to join in and give it a go.

Writing is optionally shared with the group and participants are encouraged to respond from their own experience of hearing it as opposed to offering a critique. This is the difference between writing for self development and creative writing for literary development. Writing and voicing writing in this way can be therapeutic but these workshops are not group therapy and participants need to be aware of this when choosing what to write or share

Classes held monthly. Check website for dates.

Balance: Through reading, visualisation, free-writing and sharing, we will explore what we use to maintain our equilibrium which is useful to hold in store for difficult times.  To book, click here

Potentialities: Through reading, visualisation, free-writing and sharing, we will contemplate "potentialities" in ourselves and situations and explore through our curiosity and our writing how we may develop these to help take us forward. To book, click here

Growing: Through reading, visualisation, free-writing and sharing, we will contemplate the theme of "growing" both in the natural world and in ourselves and explore how we might grow. To book, click here
