Experience

I have a background in Further Education and have been delivering writing for wellbeing courses since 2009. I have developed my professional practise through attending courses delivered by fellow practitioners, at the Psychosynthesis Trust and University of Kent. I have attended specific training with Arts4dementia in working with those suffering from dementia, and Transactional Analysis in education, with the Link Centre. I have training in safeguarding and protecting vulnerable adults as well as Prevent. I belong to, attend and deliver at the conferences for the National Association of Writing in Education (NAWE) and Lapidus, Creative Bridges, and have contributed to their journals. I have a published book on teaching creative writing and am a freelance writer and member of the Society of Authors. I have taught courses for the general public; for patients, carers and staff at a local hospice; for clients at a local mental health charity and for counsellors and psychotherapists as participators and as training in its use. I deliver the Award in Education and Training specifically for creative writing and writing for well-being tutors.
