Experience

30 years in the Voluntary Community Sector in the women’s landscape.
I am a writer & author. My first book: During the lockdown in 2020 I sat down and wrote the journey ‘My Sisters’ House – From Kitchen table to Women’s Centre’ in 12 weeks. I secured a sponsorship to publish the book and it has sold over 1,000 copies raising £4,500 + funds for the women’s centre to-date. Available on Amazon and via www.mysistershouse.info. About me: I am an award-winning Founder and (up until 2 years ago) previous CEO of My Sisters’ House Women’s Centre (In West Sussex) . With over thirty years of working in various leadership roles in the Voluntary Community Sector, I am an expert in fundraising and passionate & experienced about helping women in
need. I was awarded: Women of the Year – The Barclays Woman in 2021
‘My Sisters’ House – From Kitchen Table to Women’s Centre’ is a story of women supporting women, of the impact of pain, loss, abuse, and poverty suffered by women but also of inspiration, strength, resilience, drive, passion and determination shown by the same women. Dame Julie Walters DBE wrote the forward for my book and quoted: “Beautiful. So brave & wise, ultimately uplifting, even if it did make me cry several times”

I am working toward my 2nd book – a poem/prose book, & continue to run & host women’s writing circles and workshops. I also provide accountability and encourage writers to complete their book dreams.
