3rd European Biblio/Poetry Therapy Conference. 1st - 2nd October 2026, Canterbury, United Kingdom.

Introducing the 3rd European Biblio/Poetry Therapy Conference

Lapidus International is partnering with The Poetry Practice Ltd to deliver the 3rd European Biblio/Poetry Therapy Conference in Canterbury, Kent on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd October 2026.

There will be a pre-conference day for researchers, early-career practitioners and students to meet and share more informally on Wednesday 30th September. And on Saturday 3rd October, there will be a chance to explore Canterbury’s rich history with local literature enthusiasts.

To get a flavour of the event, you can read Mel’s accounts of her experience at the 1st European Biblio/Poetry Therapy Conference in Budapest in 2024 and the 2nd European Biblio/Poetry Therapy Conference in Jyväskylä, Finland in 2025. These were vibrant gatherings drawing people from across Europe and beyond, and we hope to create an equally beautiful and meaningful experience in Canterbury.

We are especially interested in fostering long-term collaborations in biblio/poetry therapy and its many allied practices.

The organising team consists of Mel Perry representing Lapidus, Victoria Field and Eduard Heyning of The Poetry Practice Ltd, Anne Taylor, Jon Sayers and Mariana Casale.

The conference website is now live with full details of how to submit a proposal and register for the different elements of the conference, as well as practical details. Please pop back too to read the blog page on developments and background to the event.
