How do I join Lapidus?

Lapidus offers three membership categories
Individual, Professional and Organisational - details below


Please note: The membership year runs from 1st April and the full subscription is payable if you join after this date. If you join after 1st September, a deduction will made from the following year's membership fee





Individual Membership

£30 (£20 student/unwaged) (UK sterling) per year

This category of membership is for anyone with an interest in creative writing and reading and their capacities for promoting wellbeing and health

What this offers:

  • 3 online issues per year of the Lapidus Journal

    Copies of the Lapidus Journal

  • Reduced members' rate at regional meetings, events and Conferences
  • Access to Members' Zone on the website
  • Please note: all Lapidus members are expected to adhere to the Lapidus Ethical Code



Professional Membership

£60 (UK sterling) per year

This membership category is for anyone who is actively and professionally engaged in promoting healing and personal growth through writing and reading and who is able to provide evidence of criteria for good practice. This type of membership enables you to publish your details on the Lapidus website for employers and others. As a professional member you receive all the benefits of an individual membership and in addition:

  • Your own page on the Professional Members' SKILLSEARCH facility on the Lapidus website where you can post details of your qualifications, experience and expertise for use in promoting your work and networking with others in the field. Professional Membership indicates to employers and others that you have provided referees for your work in the field, a valid Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Enhanced Disclosure and public liability insurance and that you have agreed to adhere to the Lapidus Ethical Code
  • Access to a bespoke Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Enhanced Disclosure for an additional fee
  • Advice on professional liability and professional indemnity insurance

To apply for Professional Membership you need to:

  • Provide two references (or evidence of employment) related to your work in promoting healing and personal growth through writing and reading
  • Return a signed and dated copy of the Lapidus Ethical Code
  • Provide a copy of your insurance policy and CRB Enhanced Disclosure certificate.

Organisational Member

£75 (UK sterling) per year

This category is for organisations such as Arts for Health networks, NHS organisations, day centres, University departments or library services

What this offers:

Words on wood

  • 3 online issues per year of Lapidus Journal
  • Access to Members' Zone of the website for three named individuals
  • A link to your organisation from the Lapidus website
  • Opportunities to publish news about your organisation's Lapidus-related activities on the Lapidus website

Any named individual must sign up to the Lapidus Ethical Code
